The MUMOLADE consortium consists of 7 full academic groups and 6 full industry partners (2 SMEs).
The leading research groups in Europe are from physics (ETHZ), geotechnical engineering (BOKU, UNOTT), granular materials (INPG), computational mechanics (CIM, UPD) and mechanical engineering (TUD).
The industry partners cover the whole stakeholder chain of landslides and debris flows from federal research and regulatory bodies (BFW, IRSTEA), engineering planer/designer (ARUP, BAU), construction contractor (TEER) and software house and geotechnical consulting (ITAS). This consortium is complemented by an industrial team of 8 associated partners (2 SMEs) ranging from software firm (QUAN), engineering consultants (DMT, POYRY), contractor (HOCH, KRISM) over manufacturer of protection systems (GEOB) to federal research institution (WSL).
The multidisciplinary team of academic partners bring a wide spectrum of expertise: constitutive modelling for soil and debris (BOKU), laboratory element testing and centrifuge model testing (UNOTT, BOKU), granular physics (ETHZ), granular mechanics (INPG), computational fluid dynamics (TUD), multiphase media (UPD) and advanced FEM (CIM). This complementary expertise from all the partners ensures high innovation potential in the research endeavours and a truly innovative supra-disciplinary combination of strategies, disciplines and world-leading experts.
